Who is MATEO

MATEO (Mateo Madriñán) was born in Miami and raised in Bogotá. He debuted in 2021 with “Chocolatico”, a self-written single that entered Billboard's Latin Pop Airplay chart, reached the radio top 10 in Ecuador and passed 1.6 million views on YouTube. That song took him to represent Colombia at the 62nd Viña del Mar International Song Festival, one of Latin America's most prestigious stages.
Since then he has placed three singles in Billboard's Latin Pop Airplay Top 30, collaborated with Max Carra on “Hoy Voy a Salir”, with Randy Nota Loca on “Barbie” and with Shadow Blow on “Qué Te Faltó”, and in 2025 released his debut EP Rompecabezas. He writes all of his material, in both languages, as a non-negotiable principle. His sound crosses urban Latin pop with R&B textures and an alternative sensibility, shaped by references such as Frank Ocean and Kendrick Lamar.
